Fra Mozart ankommer Wien i 1781 og til han dør ti år senere, opplever han sin høyde som utøver og komponist, og byens skiftende moter og merksnodige publikum bidrar til både stor suksess og dundrende nederlag.

Og når han vinteren 1786 begynner å arbeide på sin klaverkonsert i c-moll, KV 491, er det nettopp en avdabbende popularitet som råder. Tiden som vidunderbarn er for lengst forbi, hans virtuoseri og abonemmentskonserter med nyskrevne verk for klaver og orkester er ikke lenger like hipt. Dessuten er det en rådende oppfatning at musikken hans er krevende – for både utøver og lytter.

A traveling composer is a developing composer. Last week I was in Warszawa. A beautiful city full of energy and culture. Now, in the summertime this is very revealing. My mission there was to write my master thesis in Programming and Networks, and I managed to get a good amount of pages written during the day. The evenings were used to explore the city and to experience its rich diverse culture. And by the end of the week I started composing on a Gypsy Jazz / String Swing song.

To communicate with more than words

All the choirs from the Grieg International Choir Competition in Bergen 2016.

Recently the finale of the Grieg International Choir Festival was held in Grieghallen. Three parallel singing competitions filled three intense days with a broad range of repertoire, performance styles and hard, hard work by the attending singers and conductors.  Grieg International  Choir Competition, Nina [Grieg] Solo Competition  and Syng for Oss.

This broad range of repertoire, techniques and whole-pictured performances shown at such a high competent level impressed and inspired me.  Most importantly it challenged my view on creating music.
